The Facade of the San Diego Mission
This painting was completed in the summer of 1906 as part of a commission for California
author George Wharton James. Mr. James loaned it to the Smithsonian in 1909 as part of an
exhibition. This photo of it also appeared in an article in the Toronto World on September 19th
1909
