Bestselling biographical historical novelist, Therese Anne Fowler, the author of Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald, is helping Kim put the final polish on The Oak Lovers. Kim hopes to be ready to submit the novel soon. Publishing is, unfortunately, a very slow process.

Kim spoke about Carl Ahrens at the Dundas Museum & Archives in Dundas, Ontario, today. Eight descendants of Carl attended the speech, four from his first marriage and four from his second.
Parallel Destinies, the joint exhibition of work by Carl Ahrens and Homer Watson, starts today at the Dundas Museum and Archives. The show will continue until September 12th.
Kim’s walls are bare! All her paintings have been shipped to Ontario for the upcoming exhibit.
Kim received a message from Sandu Sindile, the curator for the Dundas Museum & Archives in Dundas, Ontario. He intends to put on a joint exhibition for work by Carl Ahrens and Homer Watson this summer. Kim and her parents will be loaning all their paintings.
The memorial bricks for Carl and Madonna Ahrens are officially in place on the Appian Way at the Roycroft Campus in East Aurora, New York. They met and fell in love at Roycroft in 1900.
After getting several paintings back from the conservator's, Kim has added a Restorations page, where people can see before and after images.
Check out the winter issue of Canadian Art magazine. In it, there is an article by Ross King called “White Feathers and Tangled Gardens”. Carl receives a fair amount of coverage.
Kim has received several photographs of Carl Ahrens' first wife and their children and has added some to the family photos page.
Kim just received a copy of the 1911 book published in conjunction with Carl's exhibition of the Mercer Collection. This book includes small black and white images of all but one painting in the collection. She has added those images to the Mercer Collection page.
Kim has officially located just under 300 works of art.
The 2009 issue of The Fra, a magazine published by the Roycroft Campus Corporation, mentions Carl in the article about the current Roycroft Potter, Janice McDuffie. Article found on page ten.
Kim gave an address at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery in Minden, Ontario, for the Friends of the Canadian Collection of the Art Gallery of Ontario. The gallery is currently holding a joint exhibition of work by Carl Ahrens and Andre Lapine.
Kim gave the keynote speech at Carl Ahrens Day, a one-day special exhibition of Carl Ahrens work at the Kitchener/Waterloo Art Gallery in Kitchener, Ontario. The event also marked the launch of the 2007 annual volume for the Waterloo Historical Society.
The Waterloo Historical Society annual volume for 2006 will be released on April 28th, 2007. The front and back covers of the volume will feature headshots of Carl at various ages and there will be many photographs in both black and white and color throughout. The article itself is about 7,000 words. Kim has been asked to be the guest speaker at the launch, which will be on the same day as the volume's release, at the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery in Kitchener, Ontario.
Kim has just returned from East Aurora, NY, where she visited the Roycroft campus, an important location in the history of the arts and crafts movement around the turn of the previous century. Carl Ahrens founded the pottery here around 1900. The place has special significance to Kim because it was where her great-grandparents met. On this trip, she was privileged to meet her cousin, Martha McGowan, a descendant of Carl and his first wife Emily Carroll. It was the first ever meeting between members of Carl's first family and second family. Many thanks to Janice McDuffie, the current Roycroft Potter, for letting Kim stay with her.
